The Berlin-based startup H2 Power 'n' Heat has successfully completed its financing round via the Companisto business angel network. The company was able to raise over one million euros in capital. With its patented fuel cell technology and a specially developed hydrogen cartridge, the startup offers a clean, quiet and grid-independent alternative to diesel generators and thus addresses a growing market for mobile, emission-free energy supply.

Successful financing round in the Companisto network

The investment met with a great response in the Companisto business angel network. The round was closed early due to high demand. In addition to numerous business angels, co-investors also participated in the financing round. H2 Power 'n' Heat intends to use the fresh capital to scale up the production of its systems together with one of Europe's largest automotive suppliers and accelerate its market entry.

H2 Power 'n' Heat impressively demonstrates how hydrogen technology can be implemented practically and close to the market. The team combines engineering depth with a clear scaling strategy - a strong signal for the mobile energy transition.

Hydrogen instead of diesel

The company develops portable fuel cell systems with an output of between 2 and 7.2 kilowatts. They can be used wherever diesel generators currently provide the power supply. This is the case on construction sites, at mobile phone masts or in the leisure and event industry, for example.

The patented hydrogen cartridge can be changed without tools, is durable and is not considered a hazardous material. This is a clear advantage over conventional tank systems. The technology is therefore also suitable for mobile applications where safety, flexibility and freedom from maintenance are crucial.

With a 5 kW module in 19-inch format, H2 Power 'n' Heat also offers a scalable platform that can be combined into systems with an output of up to 100 kilowatts. This means that larger, stationary applications (e.g. industry or defense) can also be supplied.

Market launch with strong partners

Partners such as H2 Core Systems and Ostermeier Hydrogen Solutions are already working with the technology. According to the company, other OEMs are in advanced talks and are planning pilot projects for 2026. Production is set to be ramped up in the coming months.

The company sees great potential for its solution in a market that is dependent on both decarbonization and crisis resilience. Diesel generators are considered indispensable in many applications. An alternative using fuel cell systems could make an important contribution to reducing emissions.

Founding team with a clear vision

H2 Power 'n' Heat was founded by Christoph Fiala, Volker Förtsch and Herbert Clemens. All three have decades of experience in hydrogen and automotive technology. They want to replace diesel generators worldwide with clean, low-maintenance fuel cell systems.

We are already developing systems that demonstrate how efficiently and robustly hydrogen technology works in stationary and mobile applications. In this way, we are building a bridge between engineering and climate protection - with a technology that has an immediate impact.

Made in Germany

H2 Power 'n' Heat exemplifies the trend of bringing hydrogen technology from research into practice. The company shows that innovations from Germany in the field of decentralized energy supply are increasingly attracting international attention. With the support of Companisto and a growing network of industrial partners, H2 Power 'n' Heat is well positioned to play an active role in shaping the mobile energy transition.
