Dash0 becomes second German Unicorn 2026 and raises 110 million dollars
The German startup Dash0 has closed a Series B financing round of 110 million US dollars, reaching a valuation of 1 billion US dollars. The round was led by Balderton Capital. Other new investors include DTCP Growth and existing backers such as Accel, Cherry Ventures and DIG Ventures. Strategic partners such as Deutsche Telekom (via T.Capital) are also participating in the round.
The fresh capital brings the company's total funding to 155 million US dollars. Dash0 intends to use this to further develop its platform into the next evolutionary stage of observability systems. The start-up has since relocated its headquarters to New York.
Observability at the limit
The initial situation: modern software architectures are becoming ever more complex, while AI agents are increasingly taking on central tasks in development and operation. As a result, the amount of system data, warning messages and operational decisions is growing rapidly.
Traditional observability tools are reaching their limits. Although they provide data and dashboards, they still leave the evaluation and reaction to human teams. This often leads to overload, inefficient processes and high costs.
OpenTelemetry changed the rules, meaning your data belongs to you. Now, with Agent0, we're taking the next leap: turning that data into action. The $110 million we're announcing today is how we bring autonomous operations to every engineering team in the world, before our competitors even understand what's happening to them
Mirko Novakovic, CEO & Co-Founder Dash0
Dash0 was founded in 2023 with the aim of solving exactly this problem, with an approach based on open standards and without proprietary data structures.
OpenTelemetry as the technological foundation
Dash0's platform is natively built on OpenTelemetry. This means that data from a wide variety of systems, tools and environments can be integrated without having to rely on proprietary agents.
This open approach is intended to give companies more control over their data and at the same time make cost structures more transparent.
Agent0: The step towards autonomous system control
At the heart of the further development is "Agent0", a platform for specialized AI agents. These go beyond traditional analysis and are designed to take on operational tasks independently.
The agents cover various use cases:
- Analysis and rectification of production problems
- Automatic creation and maintenance of dashboards and alerts
- Migration of existing systems
- Optimization of infrastructure costs
- Real-time security analyses
- Control and protection of deployments
The aim is to turn pure system monitoring into an autonomous control level - a kind of "nervous system" for productive IT infrastructures.
Strong traction and well-known customers
Since its foundation, Dash0 has already acquired more than 600 paying customers, including companies such as Zalando, Taco Bell and The Telegraph.
The company is benefiting from a growing demand for alternatives to established providers such as Datadog or Dynatrace, whose solutions are often considered complex and cost-intensive.
Growth strategy: platform expansion and expansion into the USA
The new funds are to flow primarily into four areas:
- Expansion of the Agent0 platform and development of further AI agents
- Opening up the platform for customer-specific agents
- Strong expansion in the US market
- Targeted acquisitions in the areas of AI, observability and security
Dash0 is thus positioning itself as a potential central infrastructure provider for AI-driven software development and operations.
