Fresh capital and new investors drive the scaling of the digital learning platform for medical professionals.

Potsdam, November 28, 2024 - The Potsdam-based startup Doctorflix has expanded its seed financing to a total of 4.1 million euros and gained Haufe Group Ventures as a new lead investor. The fresh capital is intended to accelerate the scaling of the digital learning platform for medical professionals and enable entry into international markets. The extended financing round will also be used to address new target groups such as nursing staff and assistants and to expand the platform to include additional languages and interactive formats.

In addition to Haufe Group Ventures, which is contributing its expertise in the field of learning and development, Campione Ventures is participating as a new investor. Existing investors such as High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Brandenburg Kapital, Superangels and private angel investors such as Björn Jopen (Jale VC) are also supporting the round.

Reaction to skills shortage and increasing demand for further training

The ongoing shortage of skilled workers in the healthcare sector is one of the biggest challenges facing Germany. According to forecasts, a third more nursing staff will be needed by 2049, while hundreds of thousands will be missing. At the same time, medical staff are increasingly burdened by growing workloads, which further limits the time available for further training.

With the Doctorflix platform, the startup is focusing on digital training courses that reach professionals regardless of time and place. The aim is to enable efficient knowledge transfer in order to relieve the burden on medical staff and ensure the highest level of patient care.

Vision: Global networking for better medical education

Doctorflix plans to create a global platform for medical learning content that connects professionals across national and language borders. By involving specialist societies, hospitals and medical staff, the aim is to create practical and high-quality content.

More and more patients are being treated by fewer and fewer staff. In order to implement current medical standards, knowledge must be communicated efficiently and without barriers

Successful start and ambitious plans

Since its launch in 2022, Doctorflix has taken on a pioneering role in the field of digital medical education in German-speaking countries. As early as 2023, we reported on the original seed financing. With video, podcast and microlearning formats, the platform already offers the highest content density for certified on-demand videos in Germany. Collaborations with renowned institutions such as Charité and the Median clinics underpin the quality of the offering.

With the current financing round, Doctorflix is driving forward its internationalization and the expansion of the platform in order to meet the increasing demands of the global healthcare sector.
