Exit for Pflege.de founders being examined by Cartel Office

The Hartmann Group wants to buy Pflege.de. However, the takeover is still subject to approval.
The service portal Pflege.de from Hamburg is about to be exited by its founders. The Federal Cartel Office reports that the Hartmann Group, which manufactures medical and care products, has filed a takeover of the portal. A decision on a merger has yet to be made.
Pflege.de was founded in 2011 by Benedikt Zacher, Lars Kilchert and Jochen Maaß and is aimed at senior citizens and their relatives. Useful information can be found there. The start-up supplies care products by subscription via the Curabox platform. Pflege.de has about ten million users a year.
Investors in the start-up include Holtzbrinck Digital, Hanse Ventures, banking group KfW and Carsten Maschmeyer's venture capitalist Alstin. Maschmeyer most recently held 15 percent of the company's shares. In total, Pflege.de was able to raise about 14 million euros in investment.
