Exit for Pflege.de founders being examined by the Cartel Office

The Hartmann Group wants to buy Pflege.de. However, the takeover is still subject to reservations.
The Hamburg-based service portal Pflege.de is about to be exited by its founders. The Federal Cartel Office reports that the Hartmann Group, which manufactures medical and care products, has notified the takeover of the portal. A merger has yet to be decided.
Pflege.de was founded in 2011 by Benedikt Zacher, Lars Kilchert and Jochen Maaß and is aimed at senior citizens and their relatives. It provides useful information. The start-up supplies care products by subscription via the Curabox platform. Pflege.de has around ten million users a year.
Investors in the start-up include Holtzbrinck Digital, Hanse Ventures, the KfW banking group and Carsten Maschmeyer's venture capitalist Alstin. Maschmeyer most recently held 15 percent of the company shares. Pflege.de was able to raise a total of around 14 million euros in investment.
