Exclusive: Market Pilot raises 6.2 million euros

The start-up from the Stuttgart area wants to help mechanical engineers determine competitive prices and delivery times for spare parts. Now a new investor is getting on board.
The start-up Markt-Pilot has received seed funding of around 6.2 million euros. The money comes from Cologne-based venture capital investor Capnamic. The company plans to use the new capital to expand its solution offerings and invest in scaling in the US market.
Tobias Rieker and Amin Oumhamdi first founded the platform in 2020 and have now already expanded into the US. Four months ago, the company opened its Chicago office. The founders have developed a software-as-a-service solution for the mechanical engineering sector. In Germany alone, they say, there are more than 65 million different spare parts in the mechanical engineering sector and more than 8,000 possible sources of supply. The Market Pilot platform aims to make it possible to compare and analyze the multitude of offers. Users can view competitor prices, delivery times and availability of spare parts on the platform.
"Thousands of spare parts are continuously needed worldwide and not a single one is compared to the market. Due to this lack of transparency, spare parts prices have so far always been calculated based on a traditional surcharge logic," says founder Rieker. With the Marktpilot platform, the founders want to achieve a paradigm shift in the spare parts business.
