The DeepTech company FLEXOO has closed a Series A financing round of 11 million euros. The round was led by investors eCAPITAL and AUMOVIO. The company intends to use the fresh capital to accelerate its international expansion and roll out its platform for physical AI in other industries.

Bridging the gap between the physical world and AI models

While many AI applications are primarily based on software and data models, FLEXOO addresses a fundamental challenge: artificial intelligence requires precise real-time data from the physical world in order to reliably control industrial processes or enable autonomous systems.

The company's technology combines ultra-thin, flexibly moldable sensors with edge AI. This sensor technology can be integrated directly into components, batteries or devices and continuously provides high-resolution status data.

This creates a "physical intelligence" level that makes machine states measurable in real time and usable for AI.

Focus on battery and automotive applications

A key area of application is currently in battery storage systems and the automotive industry. According to the company, validations with leading battery manufacturers show capacity gains of up to five percent - without any changes to cell chemistry or design.

The sensors record data directly at cell level. This allows, among other things:

  • Utilize power reserves more precisely
  • Implement early warning systems against failures
  • Analyze ageing processes more precisely
  • Optimize safety and efficiency parameters in real time

This form of integrated sensor technology is seen as a potential enabler for next-generation data-driven battery and vehicle architectures.

Scalable production as a competitive advantage

Technologically, FLEXOO relies on a print production approach that enables economical mass production. The sensors are less than 200 micrometers thin, freely formable and can be integrated into a wide variety of geometries. This is an approach that opens up new design and application possibilities.

The investors see the combination of scalable production, patented technology and specific industrial applications as the decisive lever for commercialization.

Capital for internationalization and IP expansion

With the conclusion of the Series A round in 2026, FLEXOO primarily intends to

  • expand international sales and customer support
  • secure strategic supply contracts
  • provide prototypes of the Physical AI platform for development partners
  • further strengthen its patent and IP portfolio

In addition to traditional industrial applications, the company is also looking to address new growth areas such as robotics and adaptive electronic systems.

Based in Heidelberg, FLEXOO is positioning itself as a European provider in the emerging market for physical AI - a segment that brings together hardware, sensor technology and AI more closely than previous industrial IoT approaches. The financing round underlines the increasing interest of investors in DeepTech business models that control not only software but also physical layers of innovation.
