Two craft beer brewers from Berlin now want to set up their own factory. The aim is to make the start-up more independent.

Georg Fürst and Lukasz Wiacek want to become more independent. Until now, the two founders have always had their craft beer Fuerst Wiacek produced in rented breweries. Now the two Berlin start-up founders want to set up their own brewery. From April, the beer will be brewed in their own brewery. The production facility is already under construction at Volkspark Jungfernheide.

Since November, the start-up's sales have slumped because bars and festivals have stopped buying kegs. "Unlike in spring and summer, our customers are now keeping their money together," Georg Fürst tells Handelsblatt. But they are now hoping for better times, especially when people can sit outside again in summer.

Fürst and Wiacek founded their start-up in 2016. At first, they brewed their craft beer at weekends in Munich. Then they rented space in a Berlin brewery, and Fuerst Wiacek is currently brewing in Copenhagen.
