Funke Mediengruppe cooperates with start-up Cozero

The greentech helps measure CO2 emissions and will now support the media group in becoming more sustainable.

Funke Mediengruppe is cooperating with the Berlin-based start-up Cozero. The greentech has developed software to digitally record and balance the CO2 footprint of companies. Based on an impact analysis and emissions data, companies can then initiate measures to reduce their CO2 emissions.

"With Cozero, we can record all of Funke Mediengruppe's climate data in a single platform. Scenario-driven, the tool then helps us initiate the best CO2 reduction measures," says Gundula Ullah, Head of Sustainability at Funke Mediengruppe. In doing so, Cozero will not only help Funke measure its CO2 emissions, but also review those of its entire supply and value chain. "The company is committed to an ambitious approach that tackles an actual reduction of CO2 emissions that does not primarily rely on offsets elsewhere," says Helen Tacke, founder and CEO of Cozero.

Tacke co-founded the startup in 2020 with Fabian Schwarzer and Tiago Taveira. The carbon action platform they developed is designed to help entrepreneurs find an economical way to minimize their environmental impact.
