Genesis Capital expands into Germany and brings 275 million euros with it
The private equity firm Genesis Capital is expanding its investment activities to the German market. At the same time, the company is strengthening its partnership structure and appointing Jörgen Hausberger as a new partner. The aim is to further strengthen its presence in the DACH region and Central Europe.
Expansion via current GPEF V fund
The expansion into Germany will take place as part of the Genesis Private Equity Fund V (GPEF V). The fund was launched in June 2025 and currently has a volume of EUR 275 million. The target final fund volume (hard cap) is EUR 295 million and is expected to be reached in the first quarter of 2026.
GPEF V is aimed at entrepreneurs and management teams looking for a long-term partner for succession solutions, growth financing, market expansions or carve-out situations. The fund invests in both majority and significant minority shareholdings.
SMEs and selected sectors
The fund pursues a broad sector approach with a focus on areas in which Genesis Capital already has many years of experience. These include B2B services, industrial companies with focused value creation, IT services, specialized retail, e-commerce and consumer-related services.
The regional focus remains on the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Austria. With the addition of Germany, Genesis Capital is expanding its investment radius to Europe's largest economy, particularly for companies with a cross-border business model or a strategic fit with existing expertise. The equity tickets of GPEF V range between 12 and 35 million euros.
Jörgen Hausberger strengthens the circle of partners
Jörgen Hausberger has joined the circle of partners to support the growth strategy in Germany and Austria. Hausberger has more than 27 years of experience in the private equity sector with a focus on the DACH region and Central Europe. He has been involved in numerous transactions and has supported companies throughout the entire investment cycle.
For more than two decades, Hausberger has been Managing Partner at INVEST EQUITY, an Austrian investment company focusing on majority investments in medium-sized industrial and service companies. He was also a co-founder of the Austrian Private Equity and Venture Capital Organization (AVCO) and holds several supervisory board mandates.
Hausberger has been working with Genesis Capital for almost ten years and is a member of the investment committee of the company's funds. His entry into the circle of partners is seen as the next logical step in this cooperation and is intended to further strengthen the implementation of GPEF V's investment strategy in the DACH region.
Genesis Capital sees the strengthening of its team as an important prerequisite for identifying additional investment opportunities in Germany and actively developing portfolio companies.
Since its foundation in 1999, the company has advised seven funds with a total volume of around 650 million euros and invested in over 90 companies. Genesis Capital's approach is long-term and operational, with close cooperation with the management teams of the portfolio companies.
