German UDS and heise launch strategic partnership for IT training

The German University of Digital Science (German UDS) and the media company heise have agreed a strategic partnership in the field of IT training. The aim of the cooperation is to combine practical IT video courses with academic recognition. In the future, IT specialists will have the opportunity to continue their education while working and earn ECTS points.

Practical knowledge meets academic accreditation

As part of the collaboration, heise is making its existing portfolio of IT video courses available. German UDS will develop this content into accredited university courses, including in the areas of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital transformation. The result is a new type of continuing education program that combines professional practice and formal higher education.

Micro-credentials with international recognition

The courses are didactically enhanced by German UDS, for example with additional learning materials, homework and knowledge tests. The result is ECTS-compliant micro-credentials that can be recognized internationally. AI-supported translations will also make the content available worldwide. German UDS is responsible for ensuring that all legal requirements for higher education are met.

Positioning in the market for digital higher education

The courses will be marketed jointly by heise and German UDS. Both partners are thus responding to the growing demand for qualified IT training in an increasingly digitalized working world. The first courses are scheduled to start as early as mid-2026.

With this partnership, heise and German UDS are positioning themselves as providers in the dynamically growing market for digital higher education and IT training. The offer is aimed in particular at IT professionals who want to acquire practical skills and have them academically recognized at the same time.
