Green Club successfully completes restructuring process

The salad and bowl delivery service Green Club has successfully completed insolvency proceedings under self-administration. The Essen Local Court lifted the proceedings with its decision on July 30, 2025. This means that the company will once again have unrestricted entrepreneurial freedom of action from August 1. This was preceded by an eight-month restructuring process that Green Club had initiated in December 2024 in order to stabilize business operations and make them fit for the future.

Creditors' approval paves the way

The creditors' meeting had already approved the insolvency plan submitted by the management by a large majority in May. This was the decisive step towards the court-ordered termination of the proceedings. During the proceedings, the company was advised by the law firm Aderhold, which specializes in restructuring, and supervised by a court-appointed administrator.

Focus on core markets, processes and quality

The Green Club management is also pursuing a clear course of consolidation following the conclusion of the proceedings. The focus is on concentrating on profitable core markets, optimizing internal processes and ensuring high product quality.

In the course of the restructuring, Green Club closed two locations, Bonn and Münster, and streamlined the organizational structure in the administration. Around half of the jobs at the company headquarters were cut and processes in logistics were redesigned in order to work more efficiently.

New product strategy with positive feedback

Alongside the organizational restructuring, Green Club has also revised its product portfolio. In addition to improved recipes and changing bowl specials, new dishes such as roasted sweet potatoes with chili cheese dip, Cajun broccoli and desserts such as coconut milk rice with pineapple, cashews and mint are now also on offer. According to Managing Director Drabiniok, these new dishes have met with a consistently positive response from customers.

The development at the new location in Munich, which opened in spring 2025, is particularly pleasing. This is an important signal for the sustainability of the business model.

As of August 1, 2025, Green Club operates nine locations nationwide in Bochum, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Essen, Cologne, Mannheim, Munich and Stuttgart. From these locations, the company delivers to over 25 cities. Green Club currently employs more than 350 people.

Future viability

The management of Green Club emphasizes that it will continue to pursue its consolidation course. "Our goal is still to make Green Club fit for the future in the long term," says Drabiniok. The results to date and the positive development in individual markets show that the measures taken are working and that the concept is fundamentally viable. It is welcome that the start-up has been able to consolidate itself, but it should not be forgotten that Green Club was still aiming for a €1 million round in October 2024.
