Greenvoltis secures new investment

Greenvoltis raises millions in investment from DeepMind Capital. Expansion of AI-native energy technology ahead.
News by Marc Nemitz Marc Nemitz · Stockholm, 03. September 2025

The Swedish climate tech start-up Greenvoltis, provider of an AI-native platform for virtual power plants, has closed another financing round. This time, the lead investor is exclusively DeepMind Capital. The exact amount of the investment was not disclosed, but the sum is expected to be in the multi-million dollar range.

Following on from the previous year's round

Greenvoltis had already received USD 10 million from Cyber Creation Ventures (CCV), Planetree Investment and Unity Ventures in July 2024. The new financing is intended to accelerate the further development of the platform, consolidate its market leadership in the European flexibility market and support the energy transition in Europe.

Focus on AI-native infrastructure

Greenvoltis is developing a digital platform designed to optimize the use of renewable energy and storage solutions. The system enables operators of solar, wind or battery storage systems, industrial companies and energy traders to participate in electricity markets and balancing services. The aim is to control trading strategies in real time and to better monetize flexibility.

New products presented

At this year's McKinsey Green Business Building Summit (GBB25), Greenvoltis presented two key innovations:

  • Aether, a trading platform for renewable energy and battery storage operators designed to increase efficiency and revenues.
  • Terra AI, an analysis tool for investors to evaluate and optimize infrastructure projects.

Both solutions aim to improve the integration of renewable energies in complex market environments.

Challenges in the European energy market

From the beginning, we have built our solution on an AI-native architecture that enables real-time multi-market optimization.

Ali Shi, Co-Founder Greenvoltis

The transition to renewable energy in Europe is increasing the volatility of the electricity markets. Long-term contracts are becoming less important, while real-time optimization is becoming more important for grid operators and energy traders. The Greenvoltis team has experience in energy trading, AI modeling and regulatory issues. With the new financing, the company intends to expand its platform offering, open up additional markets and deepen partnerships.
