The two co-living providers want to revolutionize living concepts together.

The Berlin co-living start-up Habyt is merging with its competitor Hmlet from the Asia-Pacific region. As a result of the merger, both companies will manage more than 8,000 residential units per year and support 15,000 tenants. Habyt recently acquired the Italian co-living provider Roomie in March 2022.

"The merger is just the first step. Together, we will now continue to pursue our vision of enabling anyone to live anywhere in the world," says Luca Bovone, founder and CEO of Habyt. Founded in 2017, the company offers subscriptions for apartments. This allows customers to move between different locations and rent furnished apartments or rooms for a certain period of time. "The need for unbureaucratic, uncomplicated and direct access to housing is greater than ever," says Bovone.

According to the company, Habyt was able to increase its growth fivefold in 2021. The aim is to grow to 30,000 units by the end of 2023. In the future, the company also plans to offer alternative living concepts, such as multi-generational or shared living.
