The hospitality tech happyhotel has closed a Series A financing round of 6.5 million euros. The round is led by Reimann Investors. Existing investors, including MBG Baden-Württemberg, seed + speed Ventures and Wecken & Cie. are also participating again.

Capital for transformation from tool to AI agent

The startup intends to use the fresh capital to accelerate its transformation from a classic revenue management software to an AI-supported "commercial agent". This is intended to take over operational tasks in price and sales management in an increasingly automated manner and thus relieve hotels in an increasingly complex market environment.

happyhotel combines everything we are looking for at this stage: an experienced founding team, a scalable product with measurable customer benefits and a large market that has so far only been partially tapped into

Response to increasing economic pressure in the hotel industry

Many hotels are currently struggling with rising costs, fluctuating demand, staff shortages and a high dependency on booking platforms. The solution addresses this with data-based price optimization, automation and complementary human expertise.

We don't build our system for the revenue manager - we automate the tasks of a revenue manager.

Rafael Weißmüller, CEO of happyhotel.

Today, more than 50,000 hotel rooms in 12 countries are already managed via the platform. According to the company, this leads to an average increase in revenue of around 15% for the connected establishments and influences an annual booking volume of over one billion euros.

Focus on scaling and European expansion

The Series A funds will flow in particular into

  • the expansion of AI functionalities and depth of automation,
  • the further development of data-driven price and demand analyses in real time,
  • additional teams in product development, sales and customer support,
  • accelerated expansion into other European markets.

The aim is to technologically standardize revenue management and also give smaller hotels access to previously highly specialized management tools.n We reported on a 2 million round for the startup back in October 2023.
