Helpling takes over competitor Call Jeffrey

The Berlin-based start-up provides cleaners, and in addition to the acquisition, it has also closed a financing round.
The Berlin start-up Helpling has two pieces of good news to announce: It has closed a financing round for a double-digit million amount and acquired the company Call Jeffrey. The Munich-based company offers the booking of housekeepers via an app, who take care of everything from washing to cleaning. The team consists of 180 employees, who are now part of Helpling. "For now, we would like to continue Call Jeffrey's business as it is and additionally develop new products together," explains Helpling founder Philip Huffmann. Nothing else is known about the funding round.
Helping is part of the Luxembourg-registered Helpling Group, which says it is represented in ten markets with various brands. The concept is similar to Call Jeffrey: Helpling provides cleaners, for which it works with agencies with permanent staff or even with freelance cleaners. The company itself employs 150 people.
Helpling's acquisition of Call Jeffrey marks its eighth acquisition, the start-up writes. This includes Book a Tiger, the Berlin-based company's strongest competitor at the time, which Helpling bought in 2018. With the currently collected money, further acquisitions are planned.
