The German startup Hyground has closed a pre-seed financing round of 3 million euros. The investors include Partech, Adesso Ventures, Angel Invest and Plug and Play Tech Center. The company intends to use the fresh capital to drive forward the development of its so-called "Sovereign SRE Agent", an AI solution for the operation of complex IT infrastructures.

The billion-dollar problem of modern IT infrastructure

Modern IT systems generate enormous amounts of data from logs, metrics and events. Despite the existence of observability tools, analysis is often manual, time-consuming and heavily dependent on individual expert knowledge. As a result, disruptions, failures and inefficient processes cost billions worldwide. It is particularly critical that crucial system knowledge often lies with individual experienced engineers and is not anchored in the systems themselves.

The "Sovereign SRE Agent" runs directly in the customer's infrastructure and analyzes incidents automatically. As soon as a problem occurs, the system independently begins to analyze the cause. It links data from various sources such as monitoring tools, deployment histories and internal documentation and provides specific recommendations for action.

The aim is not only to provide data, but also clear answers: What happened? Why? And what needs to be done?

Data sovereignty and security

A key difference to many AIOps solutions: Hyground is operated entirely within the customer infrastructure. This is particularly important for regulated industries, critical infrastructures and the public sector, as sensitive operating data does not have to leave the customer's own system. The solution is also independent of specific providers and can be integrated into existing IT landscapes.

First customers show efficiency gains

The platform is already being used by companies such as Deutsche Bahn and ifm electronic. The time required to rectify errors has been reduced by up to 80 percent. Tasks that previously took several hours can now be solved in just a few minutes. At the same time, independence from individual experts is increased as knowledge is systematically made available.

Hyground intends to use the investment to further develop its platform and open up additional areas of application. In addition to incident response, topics such as cost optimization (FinOps), security (SecOps) and performance analysis are to be automated to a greater extent in the future. In the long term, the company is pursuing the vision of fully autonomous IT operations in which AI takes over large parts of operations independently.

Growth spurt through new financing

The financing round was announced at the KubeCon Europe developer conference in Amsterdam. Hyground intends to use the capital to scale its technology and expand its use in large companies in Europe and beyond.
