Joshua Kimmich invests in these founders

The mission of Munich-based start-up The Football Company is to take soccer into the metaverse. In addition to the Bayern star, another professional soccer player is now joining the company.
The start-up The Football Company raises 2.5 million euros in its seed round. Dreamcraft Ventures and DapperLabs, Web3 Studios and BLN Capital are participating in the round. Various business angels and professional footballers such as Joshua Kimmich and Cesc Fabregas have also invested. With the new capital, the Munich-based startup plans to hire more employees and expand into new markets.
The Football Company wants to create a soccer metaverse based on avatars and licensed collectibles and competitions. The startup plans to generate its revenue by issuing NFTs, or digital collectibles. Fans can then trade these collectibles on a virtual marketplace.
"Our goal as soccer fanatics is to respect the heritage and culture of soccer while using cutting-edge technology to create the most authentic and advanced virtual soccer experience to date," said co-founder and CEO Ante Kristo of his product. Together with his brother Josip Kristo, he founded the start-up in 2020.
