Jan Beckers founds fintech fund

The Finleap founder already manages two successful funds. Now he is launching one specifically for fintechs.
Jan Beckers has set up a third fund. The "Global Fintech Leaders" will be listed with the capital management company Hansainvest, reports the magazine The investment. The fund will be managed by Bit Capital, the portfolio manager founded by Beckers.
"The coronavirus pandemic is a driver for the sector," Beckers told Finance Forward. Banks and consumers have recognized in recent months that financial transactions also work digitally. The fund will focus on smartphone banks, lending platforms and providers of financial software.
Beckers is a well-known serial founder. He has launched 25 start-ups. In 2014, he founded the start-up builder Finleaps, in which he is still the largest shareholder. The 38-year-old created the portfolio manager Bit Capital four years ago. The first fund "Global Internet Leaders", which specializes in tech start-ups, grew by more than 379 percent in two and a half years. The fund was worth 1.2 billion euros in mid-May. The second fund "Bit Global Leaders" was added at the end of last year.
