At the Berlin-based insurtech, he is the new head of HR and also a general representative. He starts in January.

HR strategist Jörg Schmidt will be the new senior vice president of people at Berlin-based insurtech Element. Schmidt will start in his new position in January and will then also be a general representative. He previously worked for many years at Axa Germany. There, he was comprehensively responsible for the insurer's HR as group HR manager. Schmidt built up the employer brand and was entrusted with the company's cultural change.

There has already been a major change in Element's management this summer. Astrid Stange starts as the new co-CEO at the company in August. She, too, previously worked at Axa Group. "I deeply believe that technology and data are the most important business drivers for insurance today," she said at the time.

Element is a cloud-based insurtech that is certified by the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bafin) as a primary insurer for property and casualty insurance. This allows the startup, founded in 2017, to operate as an independent insurance company across Europe.
