Digitalization in the legal sector: JUPUS receives significant funding for legal AI platform!
Hamburg, May 2024 - Legal tech startup JUPUS has successfully closed a financing round. The round is led by High Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and Combination VC, which includes well-known personalities such as Refurbed founder Kilian Kaminski and Wandelbots CTO Georg Püschel. Existing investors such as Felix Plog, founder of Foodpanda, and the lawyers Philipp Hammerich and Stefan Schicker also participated again.
JUPUS' goals
The 15-strong JUPUS team intends to use the fresh 1.3 million euros to further develop its AI software. This software, the first legal AI secretariat in Europe, automates the communication and processing of legal matters from the acceptance of a mandate to the creation of a complete file. Lawyers can access support from an AI chatbot, an online appointment booking tool and a platform for automated communication with clients.
René Fergen, founder of JUPUS, emphasizes the importance of this technology for the legal industry and stresses that JUPUS is a pioneer in the practical application of AI. Since its foundation in January 2023, the JUPUS team has grown significantly and the AI tool is already used by hundreds of law firms across Germany to process more than 200 inquiries every day.
Oversubscribed round
The financing round was oversubscribed, which underlines the great interest of investors in the development of the LegalTech sector. Max Bergmann, Investment Manager at HTGF, explains that JUPUS has already built a significant customer base and that HTGF believes in jointly creating a leading company in an under-digitized market.
Law firms today are facing major operational challenges due to a shortage of professionals and increasing client demands. JUPUS provides these law firms with a versatile AI solution that saves 40 man-hours per month and doubles the conversion rate from website visitors to inquiries. The future of the legal industry is trending more and more towards digitalization, and JUPUS is helping to drive this trend.
