Markus Maier becomes COO at Upvest

The Berlin-based infrastructure fintech brings the former UBS manager on board.
Fintech Upvest is adding Markus Maier to its management team as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his new role, Markus Maier will focus on building automated and fully digitalized operations processes for the Upvest platform. The aim is to shorten the onboarding time for new B2B customers. Maier previously worked at UBS and Deutsche Bank, among others. He has 25 years of management experience in the transaction and derivatives business.
Martin Kassing founded Upvest in 2017. The company describes itself as a "fintech that enables other fintechs to provide their end customers with access to the full range of investment opportunities". In short: Upvest has developed an investment interface.
According to Kassing, the start-up's strengths are its "tech DNA" on the one hand and its knowledge of the capital markets and crypto on the other. "With Markus Maier, we are strengthening the intersection of these two areas, making our processes more scalable and taking a decisive step towards our goal of making our investment API available to as many savers as possible," says Kassing.
