Maschmeyer investment discontinues business - and still wants to continue

The Munich-based start-up Presize wants to help customers find the right size when shopping online. Now, according to media reports, the provider is withdrawing from its current business. It is to continue with a new business model.

The start-up Presize, known from Höhle der Löwen, will discontinue its B2B business at the end of March, co-founder Leon Szeli told Textilwirtschaft . However, well-known investors Carsten Maschmeyer, Chris Brenninkmeyer and ex-Hermès boss Christina Rosenberg are apparently staying on anyway. However, it is unclear how many of the employees will continue to work at Presize.

"We are transforming our business model and plan to stop offering our technology directly to B2B partners," Szeli tells Textile Economy. The startup plans to announce exactly what the business model restructuring will look like at a later date. According to the company, the restructuring of the business model would not take place due to a lack of financial resources.

Szeli founded Presize 2019 with Tomislav Tomov and Awais Shafique. The founders have developed software to determine body measurements of customers using a cell phone camera. Users can use Presize to find the right size when shopping online. This is expected to reduce the high number of returns. The start-up conducted a study with the online store Krüger, where it was able to prove that using the tool reduced the returns rate by 3.3 percent.
