McMakler exceeds sales targets

The start-up wanted to achieve a turnover of 50 million euros last year. Now it has achieved even more. But the company is not yet profitable.
McMakler only received 60 million euros in a financing round in November, and now the Berlin start-up has announced that it has topped its sales targets for 2020: Instead of the planned 50 million euros, it has achieved 53 million euros. "We have exceeded our targets for 2020 and have grown very strongly by more than 70% compared to the previous year despite the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus crisis," says Felix Jahn, CEO of McMakler. Despite the increase in sales, McMakler is not yet profitable,
The hybrid broker has regional brokers at 100 locations, but also works with AI, which helps with the market valuation of a property, for example, and offers its customers various online tools. Last year, the start-up doubled its broker network in Germany to 400 real estate experts. New appointments are planned for this year, particularly in the IT area.
McMakler was hit particularly hard by the coronavirus pandemic at the start of 2020, when employees had to be put on short-time working. Inquiries also fell, but rose again from April. The digital part of the business in particular is helping through the crisis: "We can serve our customers using state-of-the-art methods and our software without exposing them or our brokers to health risks," says Jahn.
