McMakler exceeds sales targets

The start-up wanted to make 50 million euros in sales last year. Now it has become even more. But the company is not yet profitable.

Only in November McMakler got 60 million euros in a financing round, now the Berlin start-up announces to have topped its revenue targets for 2020: Instead of the planned 50 million euros, they had reached 53 million euros. The hybrid broker has regional brokers in 100 locations, but also works with AI, which helps, for example, in the market valuation of a property and offers its customers various online tools. Last year, the start-up doubled its broker network in Germany to 400 real estate experts. New hires are planned for this year, especially in the IT area.

McMakler hit the corona pandemic especially in early 2020, when employees had to be put on short-time work. Inquiries also fell, but rose again from April. Through the crisis, the digital part of the business in particular is helping: "We can serve our customers via state-of-the-art methods and our software without exposing them or our brokers to health risks," Jahn said.
