Frankfurt-based startup Meet5, Europe's largest socializing app for people over 40, has closed a Series A financing round of 8 million euros. The investor is the European venture capitalist Peak, which is supporting further growth and international scaling. Meet5 intends to use the new funds to double its team from the current 40 to 80 employees, open up new markets and drive forward the technological development of the platform.

Expansion into Benelux, France and the USA

The growth strategy focuses on expansion into the Benelux countries, France and the USA. The app is also set to become more intelligent: Through personalized recommendations and improved content, Meet5 wants to suggest activities and contacts to its members in an even more tailored way.

Europe's largest socializing app for over 40s

Meet5 is aimed specifically at people aged 40 and over and is thus positioning itself in a growing, previously underserved market. With over 2.5 million registered members and more than 40,000 group meetings organized by the community each month, Meet5 is already the largest platform of its kind in Europe. Around 300,000 people take part in the events every month.

The app offers a wide range of options, from hikes and restaurant visits to cultural events and trips. According to the company, over 80% of participants report a noticeable improvement in their social life as a result of Meet5.

The fight against loneliness

The topic has a social dimension. According to a WHO study published in June 2025, one in six people worldwide suffers from loneliness. While many digital platforms rely on virtual content, Meet5 focuses on real encounters. This is also reflected in usage behavior: around 90% of members are active in the app at least once a week.

Our community is looking for real encounters that are memorable. We connect people who want to try out new things, make friends and actively shape their lives.

Investors see great potential

Investors see high growth potential in Meet5. David Zwagemaker, Partner at Peak, emphasizes:"Meet5's unique focus on over-40s convinced us. The team has shown how to build a loyal community and has enormous international expansion potential."

Founded in Frankfurt am Main in 2017, Meet5's mission is to bring people together and facilitate new social connections. Premium memberships offer advanced features to find suitable activities and maintain sustainable contacts. With a rating of 4.7 stars in app stores and on Trustpilot, Meet5 is one of the best-rated leisure communities in Europe. The business model consists of premium memberships on the one hand and meeting offers from commercial providers on the other.
