Berlin-based startup Meisterwerk has successfully raised 6 million euros to develop the next generation platform for craft businesses
Berlin, July 25, 2024, 10 a.m. - Berlin-based startup Meisterwerk App GmbH has successfully raised €6 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Semapa Next, a venture capital firm that invests in European companies. I2BF, NEXXUS and the existing investors Wecken & Cie, Speedinvest, seed + speed, Innovation Nest and Marcus Krüger Syndicate are also involved. With its solutions, Meisterwerk promotes the sales growth and operational efficiency of over 600 craft businesses in the DACH region. The new funding will be used to further develop and optimize the company's digital solutions. Meisterwerk's long-term goal is to become the central operating system for craft businesses in Europe.
We are delighted to support Meisterwerk and believe in the management team, their extensive industry knowledge and their ability to execute. This is just the beginning on the road to becoming the leading operating system for craftsmen in Europe.

Challenges in the skilled trades: lack of efficiency and shortage of skilled workers
Craft businesses face major challenges: While they can often enjoy a high order situation, they also have to cope with analog, chaotic workflows and a shortage of skilled workers. Since the Covid pandemic and the outbreak of war in Ukraine, material supply problems and rising prices have made planning more difficult, which has severely impacted efficiency and productivity.
Modern solutions
Meisterwerk offers a simple solution to these problems: The company helps craft businesses to better organize their work in the office and at the customer's site by making all important processes and project information available on mobile devices or desktops. Users always know exactly what needs to be done, when and where they should be, and can take photos on site and upload them for documentation purposes, record working hours, fill out forms and exchange messages. The aim of the Meisterwerk app is to ensure smooth order processing by mapping the entire value chain - including the quotation and invoicing process as well as personnel management. This not only saves trades businesses time and stress, but also significantly increases their efficiency and thus enables sustainable growth.
The software market for the skilled trades is currently developing more dynamically and promisingly than ever before. Vertical SaaS solutions like ours are now also being used to the full in Germany and are meeting with huge demand.
Bertram Wildenauer, CEO and co-founder of the Meisterwerk app
Leading craft businesses into the future
With the latest growth financing, Meisterwerk App is well on the way to realizing its plans. Meisterwerk's offering will go beyond standard ERP systems and offer features such as customized financial solutions and advanced AI automation. These features will not only optimize craft businesses' operations and improve financial management, but also drive business growth and set new standards for efficiency and profitability in the craft sector.
Bertram Wildenauer and Nick Sonnenberg founded Meisterwerk App GmbH at the end of 2018. Wildenauer gained practical experience in his uncle's tinsmith business before specializing in digital product development and strategy. Sonnenberg contributes his many years of experience in civil engineering and digital product development and focuses on UX and UI research. Together, they combine their craft roots with technological know-how to develop solutions for craft businesses and increase their efficiency.
In the future, functions for quoting and invoicing as well as personnel management will be offered to ensure smooth order processing. Over 600 trade businesses with around 5,000 daily users in the DACH region are already benefiting from the Meisterwerk app. The startup has so far raised a total of EUR 9.1 million from renowned investors such as Semapa Next, I2BF, NEXXUS, Wecken & Cie, Speedinvest, seed + speed and Innovation Nest.
