Microsoft invests 1.5 billion US dollars in G42

The $1.5 billion investment will drive AI innovation in the UAE - a strategic partnership between Microsoft and G42
Abu Dhabi, April 17, 2024 - Microsoft has announced a $1.5 billion investment in Abu Dhabi-based G42 to drive the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and support its global expansion. This investment is intended to strengthen collaboration between the two companies and enable the introduction of new AI technologies in various markets.
This partnership is a testament to the shared values and aspirations for progress and supports greater collaboration and synergy on a global scale.

As part of this partnership, Brad Smith, Vice Chairman and President of Microsoft, will take a seat on the G42 Board of Directors. In addition, both companies will support a $1 billion fund for developers.

The goal of this collaboration is to enable emerging economies to responsibly deploy secure AI technologies and cloud services. G42 will run its AI applications and services on the Microsoft Azure platform and deliver advanced solutions to public sector and large enterprise customers worldwide.
