New strategy at Rosberg Ventures

The venture capital firm Rosberg Ventures, founded by investor and Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg, is expanding its investment model. In addition to the existing fund of funds approach, the company is now launching its own direct investment strategy. The first investment leads to Silicon Valley - Rosberg Ventures is investing in ClickHouse, a leading provider of real-time data analysis.

Rosberg Ventures already manages well over 100 million euros with its fund of funds, which are invested in leading global VC funds on behalf of entrepreneurial families from Germany and Europe. The capital for the new direct investments will be raised independently of the fund of funds. The volume of the individual direct investments is expected to be in the multi-digit million range in future. In the long term, the proportion of direct investments should account for around 20 percent of Rosberg Ventures' assets under management.

First direct investment ClickHouse

Rosberg Ventures' first direct investment is in the USA: ClickHouse, based in San Francisco, is developing a highly scalable solution for real-time data management. The company already has more than 2,000 customers, including Anthropic, Meta, Sony and Tesla, was included in the Forbes Cloud 100 in 2025 and has recently more than quadrupled its annual recurring revenue (ARR).

Nico Rosberg as an investor and sustainability pioneer

Since retiring from Formula 1 in 2016, Nico Rosberg has established himself as a strategic investor, entrepreneur and impact pioneer. With Rosberg Ventures and the previously founded GreenTech Festival in Berlin, he is pursuing the vision of combining innovation and sustainability and accelerating the transition to a climate-friendly economy.

In addition to his racing career, Rosberg is also well known in start-up circles thanks to his time on "Die Höhle der Löwen". After an announcement in 2019, he took over the investor seat as a lion for Frank Thelen and remained active on the show for five seasons until 2023.

Through his fund structures, Rosberg is already involved in some of the world's most successful venture capitalists, including funds invested in companies such as OpenAI, Stripe and Northvolt. Its investment strategy focuses on technologies with a long-term social impact, from climate and mobility solutions to AI-powered platforms that combine efficiency and resource conservation.

Rosberg is now expanding this role further with the new direct investment strategy: Away from being a pure fund participant, towards becoming a strategic co-investor that uses its international network to build bridges between European entrepreneurial families, global tech pioneers and sustainable innovations.
