New Haskoning Innovation & Education Fund launched

The newly established Haskoning Innovation & Education Fund has announced a long-term partnership with Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and the Delft University Fund. The signing of a framework agreement marks the official launch of the fund, which is dedicated to promoting independent research, innovation and education. The fund has an initial focus on climate adaptation and water technology.
The fund reflects Royal HaskoningDHV's commitment to contributing to a more sustainable society under the guiding principle of Enhancing Society Together. Each year, 12.5% of the company's net profit flows into the fund.
Long-term cooperation for research and knowledge transfer
The framework agreement provides for a multi-year collaboration with TU Delft, which is already a long-standing partner of HaskoningDHV. The first funds will be made available for the establishment of a virtual Center for Water Technology and Delta Resilience, which will serve as a platform for pioneering research into global challenges.
In addition to scientific work, the focus will also be on knowledge exchange, teaching and cooperation with international experts. The aim is to develop globally applicable technologies that contribute to strengthening climate resilience and sustainable infrastructure. The first research project is due to start in the course of 2025.
A fund with a clear mission
The Haskoning Innovation & Education Fund is the next step in the implementation of the company's mission to create added value for society. With an annual allocation of 12.5% of net profit, the fund promotes global initiatives in the areas of research, innovation and education. It is independent of short-term economic interests.
We'll support research, innovation and thought leadership.
Marije Hulshof, CEO Haskoning
As an independent, employee- and foundation-run company, HaskoningDHV is free to decide how its funds are used. After several successful financial years, the question arose as to how the company could achieve even more beyond economic success. The fund is the answer: a long-term investment in knowledge and social progress.
Focus on water technology and climate adaptation
The focus on water technology and climate resilience was chosen deliberately. Both areas have been among Royal HaskoningDHV's core competencies for decades. With the increasing challenges posed by climate change, water scarcity and extreme weather, research in these fields is becoming ever more important.
Outlook
In 2026, the fund will initially focus entirely on the initiative with TU Delft. The knowledge gained from this should help to make future funding projects even more targeted. HaskoningDHV then plans to expand the fund internationally and collaborate with other universities and research institutes. The progress and results of the first research project will be published on the company's website in the near future.
