NRW.Bank cooperates with "Matchmaker.Ruhr

The bank wants to advise users of the "Matchmaker.Ruhr" platform on the topics of financing and funding. The collaboration is intended to strengthen the Ruhr region as a location for innovation.

NRW.Bank is a new partner of the "Matchmaker.Ruhr" platform and advises users of the platform on their funding options in order to find suitable financing. The new cooperation also facilitates networking and advisory events.

"Matchmaker.Ruhr accelerates the transfer of knowledge between start-ups, companies and universities. This is an interface where NRW.BANK's financial expertise initiates and promotes many cooperations," explains Julia Frohne, Managing Director of Business Metropole Ruhr, which operates "Matchmaker.Ruhr". "NRW.BANK's participation in Matchmaker.Ruhr is therefore an important building block for initiating start-ups and projects even more successfully," Frohne is pleased about the cooperation.

"Matchmaker.Ruhr" has been in existence since September 2020 and now has almost 5,000 users and ten regional partners in the Ruhr region. Start-ups, companies and universities can create a profile and exchange knowledge, find new partners or start projects. Every week, an algorithm assigns potential business partners.

The cooperation between NRW.Bank and "Matchmaker.Ruhr" came about at the Ruhr Conference, where ideas for promoting innovation in the region were generated in workshops. In addition to this cooperation, further steps are to follow in order to "further advance structural change in the region", according to a statement.
