Leverkusen-based AI software provider OMMM has closed a seed round of around EUR 3.6 million. Founded in 2019, the company develops planning solutions for the process industry and aims to expand further, particularly in the food industry.

Strong investor base

The round was led by neoteq ventures and NRW.BANK. In addition, the founders again contributed a six-figure sum. The circle of business angels includes well-known personalities such as Luka Mucic (former SAP CFO), Andreas Ronken (CEO Ritter), Dirk Barnard (ex-CHRO Schwarz Group), Holger Schlenger (ex-CIO Valeo Foods Group) and Sebastian Diers (CEO EFESO DACH). A further investor could be added as part of a second closing.

Technology with proven benefits

OMMM is already profitable and uses its AI solutions for customers such as Schluckwerder (Valeo Foods Group). According to studies by Oliver Wyman, the use of AI in production planning can reduce planning costs by up to 40% and halve error rates. OMMM solutions lead to seven-figure savings per site for existing customers.

The company is also active outside the food industry: AKRO-Plastic and a market leader for insulation materials were recently acquired as new customers.

AI for the process industry

OMMM's planning suite optimizes production processes, lowers set-up and cleaning costs, reduces energy and raw material consumption and improves forecasting quality and service levels. At the same time, stock levels are reduced without sacrificing efficiency.

We are always on the lookout for entrepreneurs with ideas that can change industries. With OMMM, we are supporting such a project - and actively helping to shape the future.

Patrick Nesseler, NRW.BANK

OMMM intends to use the fresh capital to further develop the food industry in particular - from dairy to meat processing. In addition, the modules for demand planning, business planning and supply chain analytics are to be further developed. OMMM also intends to expand its international implementation capability through partners and new talent in development and customer projects.
