Omnisent receives 3 million euros

Marc Nemitz Marc Nemitz | 10.06.2025

Pre-seed round led by Atlantic Labs to drive development of real-time acoustic intelligence

Addendum from the editorial team: We have just received an updated press release on Omnisent. Compared to the original announcement, the updated version highlights several key points: The funding amount has been increased to 3 million US dollars, as the pre-seed round was oversubscribed. In addition, the scientific background of the founding team has been more precisely localized: In addition to the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London is now also mentioned. The clear time horizon is also new: the funds will be used specifically to expand the team, further develop the technology and prepare for the market launch in Q4 2025.

Munich, June 10, 2025 - The Munich-based deep-tech startup Omnisent has raised 2.5 million euros in a pre-seed financing round. The round was led by Atlantic Labs, with several experienced serial founders also participating. Omnisent intends to use the funding to further develop its AI-based hardware and software for acoustic signal recognition and bring its first industrial applications to market.

New level for acoustic data analysis

Omnisent specializes in the development of scalable, energy-efficient acoustic hardware in combination with a so-called Large Acoustic Model (LAM). Unlike conventional speech models, the LAM analyzes non-speech acoustic signals in real time, thereby providing new insights into industrial processes and systems.

The first application is the monitoring of compressed air systems, an often overlooked but significant energy factor in industry. Other applications range from energy and defense to aerospace and smart cities.

By making sound data analyzable in real time, we are creating a new layer of intelligence for the physical world. Our goal is to gain useful insights from acoustic signals - fast, energy-efficient and decentralized.

Robin Daiber, CEO and co-founder of Omnisent

The technology is based on a proprietary combination of sensors, embedded AI and cloud architecture to continuously analyze, interpret and draw conclusions from audio information.

Support from research and capital

In addition to investors, the founding team also receives support from the scientific community:

  • The Fraunhofer IDMT is supporting Omnisent as part of a research grant,
  • The team cooperates closely with the InSignA performance center,
  • and universities such as the Institute for Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge see Omnisent's approach as an example of effective deep-tech spin-offs.

Omnisent has received early recognition with awards such as the BMWK start-up grant and being named among the top 10 AI start-ups in Cambridge & Oxford.

According to Atlantic Labs partner Christophe Maire, Omnisent has the potential to define a new level of data for the real world by intelligently handling audio beyond speech. The team led by Robin Daiber, Ann-Kristin Balve and Adrien Jathe now wants to use the fresh funds to achieve the next technological milestones and launch the first pilot projects with industrial partners.
