Opper AI 3 million dollar pre-seed financing

The founders of Swedish observability startup Unomaly, which was acquired by LogicMonitor in 2020, are back with an oversubscribed pre-seed round of 3 million US dollars. Their new company Opper AI aims to provide the backbone for production-ready AI functions, similar to what Stripe has achieved for payments.

The focus is on the newly launched Task Completion API. It enables developers to define structured AI tasks instead of fragile prompts, with the aim of safely and reliably integrating AI functions into live products.

A new infrastructure layer for AI

The API completely abstracts the prompt process: Developers define tasks in JSON - including inputs, expected outputs and success criteria. Opper handles prompting, feedback loops and model selection automatically.

Opper AI was founded by Göran Sandahl, Johan Gustafsson and a core engineering team from the Unomaly era. In total, the team has over 50 years of combined experience in scalable automation and ML production.

Opper AI is supported by a high-caliber group of investors: The oversubscribed pre-seed round of 3 million US dollars was led by Luminar Ventures and Emblem Venture Capital, which have already invested early in some of Europe's fastest-growing AI start-ups (including Loveable). Further participation comes from Greens Capital and a number of angel investors with experience in building scalable technology platforms.
