Peakdata raises over 12 million euros

The Swiss e-health company wants to bring health professionals and pharmaceutical companies together with the help of an AI.
Swiss startup Peakdata has received €12.1 million in a Series A funding round. The round was led by Albion VC, a London-based venture capitalist. Octopus Ventures and Heal Capital were also involved, according to the company.
Peakdata plans to use the money to expand its business and continue to grow. The e-health company was founded in 2018 by data scientists Patrick De Boer and Michael Feldman and aims to use an AI platform to match pharmaceutical companies with the right medical professionals.
"To ensure that healthcare professionals are informed about the latest medicines, pharmaceutical companies need to be provided with the latest data about them and their areas of focus," co-founder Patrick de Boer said in a company statement. The information would allow pharma companies to better engage with the right professionals, which ultimately has a positive impact on patients. "We are pleased that Albion shares this vision," he said.
Albion VC manages $1 billion in venture capital invested in more than 50 companies. Albion VC partner Christoph Ruedig is impressed by the founders' determination. "It is of enormous importance for pharmaceutical companies to find the right therapeutic experts and medical professionals for their drugs," he says.
