Persival receives seed financing

Persival secures seed funding to further develop synthetic sensor data for the automotive industry and beyond. A German OEM is already one of the first customers.

Wiesbaden/Darmstadt, December 12, 2024 - The deep tech startup Persival, a pioneer in the field of realistic sensor simulations, has received seed funding in an undisclosed amount. BMH Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen mbH is taking on the role of lead investor. Other investors include business angels such as Marius Dupuis (formerly of VIRES Simulationstechnologie), Robin Schubert, Eric Richter and Holger Löbel (formerly of Baselabs), as well as David Kelm and Yannic Ambach (formerly of IT-Seal).

Innovative sensor models

Persival develops synthetic sensor data that accurately represents the real environment in order to make the development and testing of autonomous driving functions more efficient and cost-effective. The company uses its own data analysis and validation software, based on many years of research and measurement solutions, to simulate realistic conditions, such as wet roads or poor visibility.

Persival's solutions are used by leading OEMs in the automotive industry, who use the simulation models to carry out safety-relevant tests - such as object recognition in difficult weather conditions. The technology not only has potential in the automotive industry, but is also used in agriculture, rail transportation and robotics.
