Berlin-based fintech Recap has completed its pre-seed financing round: 1.25 million euros have been raised. The round was led by Israeli venture capitalist Entrée Capital. A number of business angels are also involved, including serial founder Jan Beckers and Finleap founder Ramin Niroumand. Other investors include Chris Adelsbach, Perry Blacher, Mark Ransford, Chris Hitchen and Simon Leicht. Recap will use the money to get its product ready for the market and expand the team.

"The fact that we were able to attract excellent fintech investors and business angels for our pre-seed financing strengthens us in our mission to create the ideal financing for companies in the subscription economy," says founder Paul Becker. He launched Recap 2021 together with his partner Jonas Tebbe. They previously built up the digital asset manager Liqid.

Recap enables start-ups in the subscription economy to sell part of their recurring revenue in return for a one-off payment. This provides them with financing without having to sell shares or pay interest.
