Swiss Post wants to go big with Seven Senders

Swiss Post has already held a stake in the Berlin-based logistics start-up in the past.
Swiss Post wants to acquire a "competitively significant influence" on Berlin-based logistics start-up Seven Senders. This is according to an entry in the merger control proceedings of the German Federal Cartel Office, first reported by e-commerce expert Jochen Krisch on Twitter.
So far, Swiss Post holds a 3.6 percent stake in the company, as German startups writes. Other investors include Digital + Partners and btov Partners, which have already invested in two rounds: first in 2019 with a volume of 16 million euros and then again in April 2021, when twice as much money flowed into the Berlin start-up.
Seven Senders has existed since 2015 and was founded by Johannes Plehn and Thomas Hagemann. The company aims to connect retailers, brands and parcel delivery companies across Europe via a platform. Local shipping structures are thus to become a competitive advantage. A new service offered by the company also allows customers to have parcels delivered to pick-up stations and pick-up locations.
