Six-figure EXIST funding for EdTech start-up skulio

The EdTech start-up skulio has received a six-figure grant from the EXIST program of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWK) and the European Union. The funds are intended to support the further development of the AI-based software, which is designed to help teachers prepare lessons and provide individualized support for pupils.

Support for teachers and personalized support

The founders Elias Perez and Teoman Köse are pursuing the goal of developing digital tools to help schools cope with increasing heterogeneity in classrooms. Teachers should be able to use the software to create teaching materials more quickly, while learners receive targeted support according to their performance level.

Heterogeneity in school classes is extremely high and yet hardly any individual support is provided. With our solution, we enable teachers to save a lot of time and provide students with targeted support according to their needs.

Market launch planned for 2026

The official market launch of skulio is planned for spring 2026. Schools will be able to purchase school licenses, while individual teachers will also be able to use the software independently. The founding team is already in talks with interested schools. Educational institutions from Esslingen and the region can also contact the team directly if they are interested.

EXIST program strengthens research-related start-ups

The EXIST program is one of the most important funding instruments for technology-oriented and knowledge-based start-up projects in Germany. The aim is to transform innovative projects from universities and research institutions into marketable products and to strengthen the start-up culture.

The funding program will now provide skulio with additional resources to further develop its own AI solution and prepare it for the planned market launch.
