Seed financing for NeuroTech Clee Medical
Swiss neurotechnology startup Clee Medical has successfully closed its seed round to accelerate the further development of its Neuro Access platform. The financing was led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), together with Zürcher Kantonalbank, Kickfund, FONGIT and Venture Kick as well as existing partner Wyss Geneva.
Clee Medical addresses a critical unmet need in neurosurgery: the ability to see relevant structures in real time during minimally invasive procedures
Tilmann Petersen, Investment Manager at HTGF
Focus on clinical validation and approval
With the fresh capital, Clee Medical:
- expand the product development of intraoperative real-time imaging
- drive forward clinical studies - including first-in-human
- prepare regulatory milestones and market launch
The technology enables neurosurgeons for the first time to visualize brain structures in real time at ultra-high resolution during minimally invasive procedures. An advance over exclusively preoperative imaging.
More precision in highly sensitive procedures
As anatomy can change during operations ("brain shift"), there has often been a lack of up-to-date visual orientation in the operating theater. Neuro Access aims to close this gap and improve navigation, safety and treatment outcomes in functional neurosurgery and neuro-oncology.
