Sidecaps raises €1.8 million

In their seed financing round, the Hanseatic company raised 1.8 million euros from investors and business angels. With this, Sidecaps wants to further develop its platform.
Sidecaps successfully closes its seed financing round and raises 1.8 million euros from investors and business angels. The money will be used to further develop Sidecaps' platform and comes from High-Tech Gründerfonds, Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg GmbH (IFH) and Börsego AG. In addition, investor Benedikt Beßmann as well as other strategic investors and business angels are involved, the fintech announced.
"Our approach significantly reduces the market impact of large orders and, in combination with fair pricing, lowers transaction costs," explains Frank Biller, one of the fintech's three founders alongside Julius Krieg and Gerhard Weiß. Sidecaps has developed an information and transaction platform for share trading on which sellers and buyers are intelligently brought together, the trading interests are not visible.
"The financial industry in Hamburg has an exceptionally long tradition and is a driving force at the location," says Hamburg's Senator for Economics and Innovation Michael Westhagemann. "I am confident that SideCaps will make an important contribution to the digitalisation of the financial industry."
