Sqin raises new funding

The healthtech wants to counter the shortage of dermatologists with artificial intelligence. Now investors are getting on board.
In a pre-seed round, Berlin-based start-up Sqin raises just under a million euros. Investors Accel, APX from Berlin and A-round Capital from Munich are participating. In addition, various angels such as Jens Apermann (co-founder of Docmorris), Thomas Faschian (former CEO of Flaconi) and Michael Schummert (former CEO of Babor) are investing.
Maria-Liisa Bruckert and Martin Pentenrieder founded Healthtech 2021. The founders have developed an AI-based platform around skin. In an app, patients are to receive diagnoses in a virtual consultation. In this way, dermatology practices are to be relieved in the long term and patients are to receive a consultation more quickly. According to the company, more than 150,000 patients are already using the app. In the future, the company plans to expand into international markets in addition to its home market in the DACH region.
"With the help of a digital approach that involves long-standing experts, the sustainable transformation of the industry can succeed," said investor and APX CEO Jörg Rheinboldt. "Their solution will not only make doctors more efficient, but also the entire treatment process more cost-effective."
