SQUAKE secures Haufe Group Ventures as an investor

The Berlin-based ClimateTech start-up SQUAKE has raised fresh capital: Haufe Group Ventures is a new investor in the company. The existing consortium of Simon Capital, Neosfer and Backbone Ventures is also staying on board. The investment underlines the growing importance of CO₂ transparency in business travel and logistics.

SQUAKE specializes in enabling companies to precisely calculate, document and reduce emissions. Its customers already include players such as Siemens, BCD, Airbnb and DB Schenker. With the new resources, the start-up aims to support medium-sized companies and corporations in particular in implementing increasing ESG requirements.

Focus on Scope 3 - the difficult part of the carbon footprint

The regulatory requirements for companies are increasing significantly with CSRD and Scope 3 reporting. In particular, indirect emissions that arise outside the company itself pose major challenges. These include business trips, transportation of goods and purchased services. In some industries, they account for over 50% of total emissions.

The platform offers an end-to-end tool that ranges from reporting and CO₂ reduction options during booking through to invoicing. The Carbon Verification Protocol (CVP) architecture ensures seamless auditability. In addition, SQUAKE provides direct access to sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and other insetting solutions, embedded in existing booking and logistics systems.
