The Startup Demo Day of AXEL - The Energy Accelerator has once again shown how much innovation potential there is in the regional energy and technology scene. As part of "RegioCOP30 Karlsruhe", Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences became a meeting place for exchange, new ideas and future-oriented technologies. Around 150 guests were given an insight into current developments and practical solutions for the future of energy.

Broad spectrum of technologies presented

There are currently 15 start-ups from Baden-Württemberg, including five from Karlsruhe, working in the AXEL Team Training. Nine of them presented their technological approaches, which are characterized by a high degree of maturity and diverse fields of application. The solutions presented ranged from hardware to new energy storage concepts, AI-based platforms and ideas for resource efficiency and sector coupling. It became clear how closely technological excellence and entrepreneurial commitment are linked and together drive energy innovation forward.

Technology meets entrepreneurial spirit

The mixture of expert jury and interested audience created an open and practice-oriented atmosphere. The discussions about prototypes, scaling paths, challenges and financing options showed how far many teams are already in the implementation phase. The event made it clear that the future of energy is not just being discussed in theory, but is being actively shaped by committed founders.

Dion+ wins final with water technology innovation

Start-up Dion+ came out on top in the final. The team impressed with a water technology that is designed to significantly reduce water and energy consumption in desalination projects. As the winner, Dion+ will receive access to intensive mentoring and tailored support services in AXEL's Team Development Program.

Start-up BW strengthens founders

The Demo Day underlines the importance of continuous support for young companies. The Start-up BW state campaign accompanies founders from the idea to the market launch and offers coaching, expertise and access to the energy network of fokus.energie e.V. Since 2018, 260 teams with over 500 founders have benefited from these offers.

Vibrant start-up scene with a clear drive for the future in Karlsruhe

The Startup Demo Day made it clear just how diverse and dynamic the regional energy scene is. The projects presented show courage for change, innovative drive and energy. The event made it clear that the energy transition is being driven by people who are actively shaping rather than waiting.
