Sympatient raises 7.5 million euros

The start-up has thus closed its Series A financing round. The company's focus is mental health.
Hamburg-based start-up Sympatient has closed its Series A financing round, raising a total of €7.5 million from investors. Existing investors, the main investor Verve Ventures and two new business angels invested. The money will now be used to develop the company's own offering.
The startup has focused on finding solutions in the field of mental health. For example, the "Invirto" program, which will be released in 2020, is to be able to carry out parts of psychotherapy digitally. Phobias and panic disorders should thus be able to be treated in a relaxed manner on the sofa at home. The program can be prescribed by doctors on a regular basis.
"We are grateful for the trust our investors have placed in us with this round of financing," says Christian Angern, co-founder and CEO of Sympatient. "With the establishment of a Digital Anxiety Clinic, we now want to expand our specialization and cover the entire treatment pathway for anxiety disorders - from diagnosis to therapy and follow-up care."
Sympatient originally grew out of a scientific study conducted by UKSH. In 2017, the founders were Christian Angern, Julian Angern and Benedikt Reinke. Their main product so far is Invirto, with more offerings to be added in the future. More than 50 employees already work for the company today.
