Synthflow AI receives 20 million US dollars

The Berlin-based AI start-up Synthflow AI has raised 20 million US dollars in a Series A financing round. The round was led by Accel, with participation from existing investors Atlantic Labs and Singular. The new capital brings the company's total funding to 30 million US dollars. The money is intended to drive international expansion, including in the USA, and accelerate the use of AI-supported voice agents in companies worldwide.

Voice AI on its way into the mainstream

For years, voice-controlled artificial intelligence was considered technology-intensive and difficult to access. Only recently have technological advances enabled the widespread use of AI voice agents, for example in customer service, appointment scheduling or lead qualification. Digital agents offer new opportunities: They are available around the clock, speak in natural language, require no human intervention and can map support processes at a fraction of the previous cost.

Business model: no-code platform for AI voice agents

Synthflow AI was launched in 2023 by serial founders Albert Astabatsyan, Hakob Astabatsyan and Sassun Mirzakhan-Saky. The company's goal is to democratize access to modern voice AI. To this end, the company has developed a no-code platform that enables companies to create and use individualized AI language agents without any programming knowledge.

The business model is based on a software platform for companies that offers the following services:

• Configurable voice AI agents that perform tasks such as support, appointment setting, lead qualification and call routing
• White-label solutions that can be adapted to different brand and company requirements
• Access to over 200 integrations with existing systems such as calendars, CRM or telephony applications
• A proprietary Voice Operating System (Voice OS) that offers natural voice output with low latency, high quality and reliability
• Platform operation in the SaaS model, where customers pay depending on usage volume and range of functions

The platform is specifically designed to appeal to medium-sized companies and non-technicians for whom building their own AI infrastructures was previously too complex or expensive.

Growth, impact and future plans

Since its market launch in 2024, Synthflow AI has had a number of successes. According to the company:

• 45 million calls handled automatically with 99.9% availability
• Saved over 4 million hours of human working time
• 35% more queries answered compared to human agents

With the fresh capital, the company plans to

• Expand internationally, including opening a US office
• Expand the team in the areas of product development and engineering
• Further technical development of the platform to open up new areas of application

Synthflow AI already completed a successful seed financing round in June 2024. At that time, Singular, Atlantic Labs and other investors invested a total of USD 7.4 million in the start-up.
