With an impressive waiting list and investment from top venture funds, Tana launches its platform to reimagine knowledge and collaboration through AI

London, February 4, 2025 - AI-native workspace tool Tana has closed $14 million Series A funding led by Tola Capital. With participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Northzone, Alliance VC and firstminute capital, the total funding raises to USD 25 million. The funds will be used to further develop AI-supported workflows and voice control - with the aim of fundamentally changing the way humans and AI work together.

Over 160,000 users on the waiting list

During the stealth phase, Tana has already built up a waiting list of over 160,000 users - including representatives from more than 80% of Fortune 500 companies. More than 30,000 testers have already used the platform, and over 24,000 active community members are exchanging ideas in Tana's Slack group.

This team has an extraordinary vision for the future of work. Their AI-powered, voice-based platform clearly stands out and will redefine the way companies collaborate.

Behind Tana are founders Tarjei Vassbotn, Olav Kriken and Grim Iversen - all with years of experience in AI, productivity and software development. Their plan is to develop an AI-powered tool that replaces document-based workflows, spreadsheets and emails and redefines productive work.

Tana's technology: three key innovations for more efficient work

Tana combines three key technologies to optimize information processing and AI workflows:

  1. Dynamic knowledge graph - information is automatically linked, similar to the human brain.
  2. Proactive information processing - data is brought to the right place at the right time.
  3. Supertags - This function transforms unstructured notes and voice messages into usable, structured information.

Industry experts rely on Tana

Tana's innovative approach has already convinced well-known investors. Lars Rasmussen, co-founder of Google Maps and former CEO of Google Wave, is one of the early supporters. Other prominent investors include Arash Ferdowsi (co-founder of Dropbox), Siqi Chen (founder of Runway), Olivier Pomel (founder of Datadog) and Holly Branson (Virgin)

Tana's AI agents are some of the most impressive I've ever seen - the company will have a major impact on the future of knowledge work.

Nnamdi Iregbulem, Partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners

"Computers should be a bicycle for the mind - instead they are often a hamster wheel that slows us down with inefficient workflows," explains Tarjei Vassbotn, co-founder of Tana. "AI can change that - but only if we organize knowledge and work in a completely new way."
