Finnish startup Time Atlas Labs, which helps people track and learn from various life moments, has closed a €1.8 million growth financing round. The round was led by Lifeline Ventures and also included business angels such as Severin Hacker (co-founder of Duolingo) and Tuomas Artman (co-founder of Linear).

The capital will be used to drive forward the further development of the Time Atlas app, which is available free of charge in the Apple App Store worldwide. Unlike traditional fitness or sleep trackers, Time Atlas offers a completely private, end-to-end life chronicle that combines activities, locations and personal notes. This helps you to reflect on significant experiences and recognize patterns in your own life.

The genesis

The idea was born when co-founder and CEO Aapo Kyrölä realized during his first year as a father that many formative moments had been forgotten."Our active lives provide us with countless impressions and experiences that we can rarely capture - let alone use later to make better decisions," says Kyrölä."With Time Atlas Labs, we want to change exactly that: We're creating a new category, Active Life Tracking, that connects all moments and gives people a deeper understanding of their own story."

Market potential and outlook

The market potential is enormous: the global health and wellness tracking market is expected to more than triple by 2034. Time Atlas is positioning itself as the next step in this development: comprehensive, holistic and consistently data protection-oriented. All data remains private and is not sold or used for advertising. Sharing is only possible at the express request of the user.

Time Atlas Labs was founded in 2024 by Aapo Kyrölä, Markus Stenberg and Juho Pennanen. Kyrölä is an experienced serial founder. His location tracking app Moves was acquired by Facebook in 2014, and the game studio Sulake, which he co-founded, made headlines around the world with Habbo Hotel. In the near future, the start-up plans to launch a new version of Time Atlas, which will cover additional areas of life and further expand the user base globally.
