The Canadian automation company Vention has raised 110 million US dollars (around 94 million euros) in a new financing round. Investors include Investissement Québec, Desjardins Capital, funds managed by Fidelity Investments Canada ULC and NVentures, the venture capital arm of NVIDIA. Other financial institutions also participated in the round.

Focus on physical AI and zero-shot automation

Vention intends to use the fresh capital to drive forward the further development of its AI-supported software and hardware platform. A central focus is on the expansion of physical AI, which supports automation solutions along the entire life cycle, from planning to implementation and operation. The aim is to enable so-called Zero-Shot Automation™, in which automation systems are immediately ready for use without complex integration.

Expansion of platform, applications and global presence

The funding will also go towards new functions for the software platform, the expansion of a portfolio of preconfigured applications and international expansion. Vention plans to further strengthen its presence and operational structures in Europe and Germany in particular. This is the company's response to the growing demand for rapidly scalable automation solutions in the wake of re-industrialization and reshoring initiatives.

According to Vention, the platform is increasingly being used by large companies as a company-wide standard for automation. Customers from industries such as automotive, aerospace, logistics, consumer goods and food are establishing Vention as a central element of their global manufacturing strategy. The platform makes it possible to design, roll out and further develop automation solutions across multiple locations.

Automation reduced from months to days

By using generative AI and physical AI, Vention has recently been able to introduce new tools such as automated configurators, AI-supported specification assistants and co-pilots for robot programming. These should significantly reduce project lead times in production automation and simplify access to automation.
