Vinolin receives € 200,000 pre-seed

The Heilbronn-based start-up Vinolin has successfully completed a pre-seed financing round of 200,000 euros. The fresh capital comes from the Start-up BW Pre-Seed program, provided by Landeskreditbank Baden-Württemberg and Campus Founders Ventures. With the financing, the founding team led by Simon and David Blank aims to drive forward the technological development of the digital wine sommelier and strengthen its position in the market.

Digital wine advice at the touch of a button

Vinolin is developing an AI-supported solution that supports consumers in online stores when choosing wine. The support can provide recommendations on dishes, grape varieties or aroma profiles, for example. The virtual sommelier is already being used in around 15 online stores run by wineries and cooperatives and, according to the company, has conducted over 8,000 real consultations.

This investment is a significant strategic milestone for us. We are bringing professional advice where none existed before - directly to the wineries' digital sales channels.

Growth plans

The focus of the next development phase is on technical scaling and internationalization."Our goal is to make Vinolin the world's leading provider of AI-based wine advice," says David Blank, also Managing Director of Vinolin. The team intends to use the new capital to further develop the platform, expand interfaces for retailers and acquire new partners.
