Visma acquires Berlin-based accounting start-up Butler

With the support of the Norwegian software group, Accounting Butler aims to become the market leader in Germany.
The Norwegian software group Visma acquires the Berlin-based start-up Buchhaltungs-Butler. The acquisition gives the software group a presence in Germany for the first time. Buchhaltungs-Butler will remain independent as a company and intends to benefit from Visma's market knowledge.
"Thanks to Visma, we now have the expertise and clout of one of Europe's largest software houses in the field of financial management software," says Maximilian Zielosko, co-founder of Buchhaltungs-Butler. He co-founded the startup with Konrad Nerger in 2015. The Berlin-based software provider has developed accounting solutions for small businesses with up to 30 employees. With the help of the cloud-based software, the start-up's customers should be able to automate their accounting processes.
"Accounting Butler has a first-class product and high customer satisfaction - factors that are very important to us at Visma," says Merete Hverven, CEO of Visma. The software group wants to support the start-up in its further growth in the future.
