WARGdrones receives pre-seed financing

Explosive ordnance clearance in Ukraine. With the financing from the Buhlmann Group, WARGdrones plans to deliver its drones to defuse explosive remnants of war.
Hamburg, September 19, 2024 - Hamburg-based startup WARGdrones has received a mid-six-figure sum from the Buhlmann Group in a pre-seed financing round. The company intends to use this financial injection to further develop and expand its approach. The aim is to use specially developed drones to safely defuse explosive ordnance from the air and thus save human lives in crisis areas.
Progress in the field of explosive ordnance disposal
WARGdrones is working on the development of a globally unique drone technology that aims to neutralize explosive ordnance efficiently and from a safe distance. This technology represents a significant advance in the field of explosive ordnance disposal, as it makes it possible to neutralize mines and other explosive devices from the air without putting people in direct danger. This should significantly reduce the risk to civilian and military forces.
High demand in Ukraine
The need for explosive ordnance disposal solutions is particularly high in crisis regions such as Ukraine. Due to the ongoing conflict, large parts of the country are contaminated with landmines and unexploded ordnance, which greatly increases the risk for the civilian population and the military. WARGdrones plans to help on the ground with its drones in order to minimize the risk. The first delivery of drones to Ukraine is scheduled for this year, with another planned for early 2025. The Ukrainian authorities have already reported the need for several hundred drones.
Strategic investment with a global perspective
The Buhlmann Group, which invested in the pre-seed round, not only plays the role of an investor, but also that of a strategic partner. The Bremen-based company has so far mainly operated in the field of steel tube production and vibration control technology, but the war in Ukraine has also sparked interest in DefenseTech. The Buhlmann Group has been involved in humanitarian activities since the beginning of the war in Ukraine and supports the "Solidarity Ukraine" foundation, among others.
When the Buhlmann Group's motivation, expertise and contacts meet a convincing business case like WARGdrones, a strong partnership is formed at an impressive speed

By investing in WARGdrones, the company is now expanding its commitment to technological innovations that can save lives on the ground. The Buhlmann Group's global network also gives WARGdrones access to other markets affected by explosive remnants of war.
Expansion of the network and international opportunities
WARGdrones, which was founded in Hamburg in 2019, benefits from the collaboration with the Buhlmann Group not only financially, but also strategically. The Bremen-based company's strong international network could make it easier for the start-up to gain access to other crisis areas and regions where explosive remnants of war pose a threat.
